b. Business Trips

For business-related travel, originals and one set of photocopies of the documents listed in the section above (see 3a – Tourist Travel for details) are required, in addition to a letter from your employer briefly outlining the purpose of the trip and an invitation from the host company or business contact overseas extending the invitation.

If your employer will be responsible all expenses incurred during your stay abroad, a letter can be written to that effect, thereby exempting you from presenting a personal bank letter or statement. If your employer is also responsible for your accommodation, the full physical address where you will stay abroad can simply be included in the same company letter. No additional medical insurance should be purchased if you are covered by a company medical insurance plan that meets our requirements (see #8 in the section 3a – Tourist Travel for details). Details of the policy (insurance company name and policy number) should be included in the company letter or you can present your insurance card accompanied by a photocopy as a part of your visa application.

There is an application fee attached to the processing of the visa application (see 7a – Short Stay Application Fee for details).

Please use the Schengen Visa Application Form (see 2a – Schengen Visa Form) for transit through mainland France and the Short Stay/Transit Visa Application Form (2b – Short Stay/Transit Form) for transit through a French Overseas Department or Territory. If you wish to submit a visa application for the purpose of marriage to a French national without taking up residence in France, for short-term study or for short-term medical treatment in France, for example, click here to send us an e-mail request for information and a Visa Officer will reply with the list of documents required for your particular case.
