Since April 5, 2010 Schengen member states have adopted a common visa code for short stays.
This includes:
a new version version of the Schengen visa application form;
a reduced Schengen visa application fee of 35€ for children between 6 and 11 years old;
a maximum average delay of 15 days for obtaining a visa appointment and for processing of Schengen visa applications.
As of the aforementioned date, the French Embassy in Port-of-Spain is now competent to represent Latvia (processing Schengen visa applications).
