French President visits the Caribbean
The President of the French Republic, François Hollande, visited the Caribbean from May 8 to 12, 2015, during which he traveled to Saint Martin, Saint Barthélemy, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Cuba and finally Haïti.
The President chaired a regional summit in Martinique entitled "Caraïbe Climat 2015", during which the " Martinique Call for Action " was produced to address the problem of climate change.
The President then went over to Guadeloupe to open the Mémorial ACTe on May 10, the day of commemoration of the treaty which abolished slavery.
