1 - Biometric Visas

The French Embassy in Port-of-Spain wishes to inform the public of the issuance of biometric visas, with digital fingerprinting and photographing, with effect from October 6, 2008.

Children under the age of 6 are exempt from digital fingerprinting and photography. However, they should present a recent passport-size photograph.

As of the aforementioned date, almost all visa applicants, including children, are required to apply in person at the time and date of their scheduled visa appointment see 5 - Online Visa Appointments for details : The French Embassy – Visa Section, 6th Floor, Tatil Building, 11 Maraval Road, Port-of-Spain.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the implementation of the new requirements.

The following individuals are the only persons exempt from in-person appointments, digital fingerprinting and photography:

- Heads of state and their spouses

- Members of government and their spouses

- Members of the official delegations of heads of state when invited by the government of a Schengen state or by an international organization on official mission

- Sovereigns (other than heads of state) and other eminent members of royal families when invited by the government of a Schengen state or by an international organization on official mission

These applicants are kindly asked to submit a recent passport-size photograph along with their visa application.
